Wow 14 straight full.......... (none / 0)

term election defeats.  That means Wofford was the "only" Democrat elected since 1962 by my calculations.  That is unbelievable for a State that has voted mostly for Democratic Presidential candidates since that time (64-68-76-92-96-00-04)  Does anybody out there know who the last Democrat was to win a full term election?  It was in 1962.

Elected mayor of Philadelphia in 1952 and to the US Senate in 1956 and 1962.  Defeated in 1968 due to the major efforts of the National Rifle Association.
